Character’s Appearance:

Gideon—“Gid” to his friends—is fairly tall, maybe just an inch short of meeting his older twin, Fabian. He has a mop of fine, mousy brownish-blond hair that looks naturally windswept. On the occasion that he is able to get his hair to stay still, his lovely bluish-green eyes intensifies his boyish good looks. A quiet, slightly ambiguous smile usually graces his face and only those close to him can figure out what it means. Like his brother, Gideon has a slightly pale complexion but only because he’s the type of person who prefers to stay indoors and catch up on homework and maybe even read a chapter or two ahead of the class. This doesn’t mean that he hates sports and doesn’t like the outdoors. Like all normal wizards, he grew up to Quidditch and fancies himself a fair chaser but lately he took to liking some Muggle sports like volleyball and tennis. He also loves to swim but hates having to expose his upper torso. He thinks his shoulders are a little too broad and that he isn’t buff enough, despite the fact that he (like his brother) was born with a firm stomach and perfectly nice biceps. Both twins don’t really think much of their looks but neither takes them for granted. If it weren’t for their adorable puppy-dog pouts, they wouldn’t have been able to get away with some of their more daring (albeit stupid) pranks.

Character’s History:

Although from a Pure-blood family, Gideon remains grounded in his belief that no one deserves to be prejudiced. He treats everyone as he would treat his mother, his father, his older sister, Molly, and his brother.

Gideon is the youngest and probably the slightly more reclusive twin. This still doesn’t stop him from teaming up with his brother and cooking up schemes that would get them in trouble for no less than a week. Other than his brother, Gideon is close to Molly. He looks up to her greatly for her patience and great level-headedness in the Prewett household. Molly believes that her brothers have great potential (especially Gideon since he is Fabian’s voice of reason), if only they would stop “underestimating their powers” and using them for silly pranks. She has grown even more worried since the boys are in their 7th year at Hogwarts (in Gryffindor, following their mother’s family tradition) and should be focusing even more on their future careers.

Gideon and his family live a content life despite being slightly less rich than the older, more traditional Pure-bloods. His mother and father both work in the Ministry of Magic and earn enough to have their children live fairly luxuriously in a small town near London. Gideon and Fabian do not want for anything but they both hold steady paying summer jobs at the Leaky Cauldron. Their father says it’s a way of teaching responsibility and independence. Molly thinks it is a way of keeping them out of trouble and out of her hair for a few hours.

Being brought up in a politically-involved family, Gideon and his siblings are well-informed about the happenings in the Ministry. He and his brother most often disagree with what goes on but do not say anything about it, in case they might jeopardize their parents’ jobs.

Gideon gains his reputation as the brains to his brother’s brawns by being the more studious of the two. Since ages ago, he was always fascinated by how magic works and how it affects his life. He appreciates theoretical studies and likes writing reports about what he reads. He does fair in his brother’s favorite subjects like Potions and Care of Magical Creatures but Gideon’s favorite subjects are Transfiguration, Charms and Arithmancy. He takes pride in being able to calculate and/or understand how just the right words or numbers can create a truly wonderful and perfect spell that can change something simple, like a pebble, to something as complex as a self-knitting sweater.

Character’s Personality:

Fabian’s “foot ahead of mind” ethic does not appeal to Gideon. Therefore, he is the laid-back, analytical guy. No mistake, he can be just as carefree (and is usually as happy-go-lucky) as his brother but once he bonds with someone or devotes himself to something, he takes everything seriously. He does not like to make many mistakes and prefers to take steps slowly to ensure a perfect outcome.

Gideon loves his family and his friends very dearly and would do anything for them. He loves being surrounded by a group of his loved ones and feels a little uncomfortable when he is alone. Still, this doesn’t mean he dislikes having times for himself. After all, keeping up with Fabian requires a lot of energy. Gideon believes he spoils his loved ones, constantly showing his affection by hugging or simply beaming at his friends and family whenever they are near him. He loves to give them advice only if they solicit it from him. Of course, he can be unabashedly honest. He thinks this is the best way to show that he cares for his loved ones.

Gideon has his dreams of being a Ministry worker, like his parents, or maybe even going into teaching. He hopes to make a difference in the Magical World and help reshape how wizards and witches treat muggles and muggle-borns.

A very amicable guy, Gideon seldom gets into disagreements but is willing to talk things through with anyone who doesn’t see things eye to eye with him. He rarely looses his temper and gets into an all-out brawl but when he does, even Fabian wouldn’t want to get in the middle of his brother’s wand and whoever the hex’s target is. If ever Gideon offends someone, he is quick to apologize and tries hard to make it up to that person. He really doesn’t like having enemies and treats everyone he meets with utmost respect—unless, of course, that person is being a huge prick. In that case, he and his brother would treat the unlucky victim to a nice, wholesome display of public humiliation (possibly involving a combination of pumpkin juice, ground up Ice Mice, a casually placed freezing charm, a misplaced Mrs. Norris and a large cage of Billywigs).
